On this blog we’ve always celebrated the hairy and hirsute, whether it be Ben Cohen or Matt Lister, or in this happy development Mr. Harry Judd himself. A recent ‘Full Monty‘ gig, and his ‘Get Fit, Get Happy’ project have provided fertile ground for photo shoots like this. A cold Monday morning deserves something hot.
The calendar flips to its final page: December. The holiday season goes into full-swing. It’s all merry and bright and fa-la-la-la-blah… Before the elves start their maddening song, a look back at the week that saw us move from November into Merry Mayhem.

Too many hot minutes have passed since we last saw Ricky Martin in a Speedo. We rectify that in haste this morning with these fine(ly photoshopped) promotional photos from his appearance in the new American Crime Story: Versace. That’s the one that will also showcase Darren Criss in his tiny pink Speedo, and who knows what other kind of male nudity. (It was Miami in the mid-90’s after all – models were running rampant in skimpy attire and South Beach was the go-to hot-spot of the moment, thanks to the likes of Madonna.)
Though I skipped out on the O.J. Simpson story they did on the last ACS round, I will likely check this one out. The murder of Gianni Versace was a memorable moment from the summer of 1997. It came right around the time when Princess Diana died. Madonna once remarked that she felt haunted during that summer, and the notion of that has always intrigued me. Even the rich and famous are equalized by mortality.
If you’re like me, at about 8 or 9 pm you’re coming out of a turkey coma and ambling into the kitchen for round two. When we were kids, Suzie, my brother and I would usually sneak down the back stairs of her old Victorian while the adults spoke in animated tones in the red-velvet-wallpaper-buffered living room in the hours after dinner. The bustle of the day had subsided, but no one wanted to depart. We ate a small second dinner, then headed back upstairs to prolong things as much as possible.
These days, I’m all about getting home and winding down in quiet. Some of us have to work tomorrow. For those who need a little break, here’s a look at some former hunks to end the holiday with a sweet treat. Guy candy gay ahead.
First up is Chris Salvatore. Wet or dry, he’s a sight to behold.

This is Daniel Goodfellow, a healthy dose of guy-candy for a mid-Monday moment. Mr. Goodfellow has already been named a Hunk of the Day, and if he keeps releasing photos like these he will likely be again. The Speedo has long been the official outfit of choice for ALANILAGAN.com, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
This isn’t much more than a gratuitous post of a shirtless Chris Hemsworth, on the day that he returns to the big screen as Thor. His last solo movie still holds special meaning for me, not so much for the flimsy storyline, but for the way we entered the theater. Skip and I are planning on doing it all over again (minus the sketchy beginning). In the meantime, here’s some more of Mr. Hemsworth (with better hair than in these shirtless pics). And here he is naked in case you need just a little bit more Thor. (And here is his bro Liam for those who prefer that.)
No matter how sinfully salacious or purportedly provocative a photograph might be, the moment the color is drained from it suddenly turns it into art. The images in this post are proof of that, as they feature various former Hunks of the Day in states of shirtless and shameless glee. First up, front and back, is Pietro Boselli. He’s not only been a Hunk of the Day, but has also been featured numerous times in states of underwear and states of undress, posing in his second Hunk of the Day honor.

Alexander Skarsgård strikes a quirky if smoldering pose in his tighty-whities, but he went full-on starkers for hi Hunk of the Day post. Derek Yates continues the sultry vision that he began in his first Hunk of the Day post (and his second).
Mark-Paul Gosselaar flashed his bodacious booty in his virgin Hunk of the Day crowning.
Nick Jonas has been here far too many times to list all the links, so do me (and yourself) a favor by typing his name into the Search feature at the bottom left and see what he brings up. It will be worth it, trust me.
Adam Driver channels his sexy rub-a-dub-dub side here, as he did in his last Hunk of the Day feature (check out his first HOD post here). Giles Marini hasn’t yet been featured (or if he has, that post has gone by the wayside). Here’s a pic of him nonetheless.
Finally, a little GIF for any Calvin Harris lovers out there. In case his original Hunk of the Day post doesn’t quench the thirst, there’s also this brief-clad one.
Jamie Dornan has been here a few times before – in his Hunk of the Day crowning, in these scintillating shots, and naked as a jaybird in motion. (Incidentally, why do jaybirds get all the nudity?) His work on ‘Fifty Shades of Gray’ – a movie I have yet to see in its entirety, and a movie I will always have yet to see in its entirety – spurred a fan-base thirsty for more of the shirtless scenes seen here. Who am I to disagree?
James Van Der Beek has been here before, and fans of the Beek should revisit this post of our old pal Dawson, in which he received his first crowning as Hunk of the Day. Today’s entry is a holding spot for his next Hunk honor, which will come as soon as he shows a little more. We shall put a pin in that for now.
It seems to me that Mr. Van Der Beek is a star in need of a killer sitcom or a raunchy rom-com that showcases his edgy and sultry good looks, as well as his comedic grace. His work on ‘Varsity Blues’ and ‘Dawson’s Creek’, and his thrilling turn in ‘The Rules of Attracton’ showcased his dramatic gravitas, while his hilarious turn on ‘Don’t Trust The B—- in Apartment 23’ illuminates the prowess of a cunning funny guy. I still feel like we haven’t seen his full potential, which makes him an exciting actor to watch – those on the precipice of greatness carry an intrigue and aura of the future to them.

Here is the kinkiest and linkiest post of some of the gentleman who have graced this blog with their physical prettiness and presence. The Hunk of the Day feature is what will likely be missed the most until I return to posting in the fall. A favorite Hunk in these parts, Harry Judd has endeared himself to readers/viewers here with naked spreads in magazines and shirtless posing as part of McFly. Here, he takes it all off in ‘The Full Monty’- the musical in which he’s currently appearing. It may be worth a trip across the pond… (check out more GIFs here).
It’s once again time for the only thing ESPN has ever been good for: the Body Issue, in which various athletes disrobe and pose for pics in the buff. This year’s crop may bring the hottest of them all, in the form of Julian Edelman, from the New England Patriots. The mere notion of a naked Julian Edelman sends shivers down the spine. Here he is in a few teasers of the nude Edelman photo shoot.
Nyle DiMarco has made a couple of splashes here before, and he’s here to do it again with two simple but scintillating shots. The best ones can do a lot with a little. Mr. DiMarco can also be seen in even less here.
The Hunk of the Day feature has been absent for a few days now, but it’s coming back in a major way tonight. Before that, however, here is a look at some former hunks who are making splashes in various stats of undress. It begins with these naked GIFs of Steve Grand doing his part for Broadway Bares. Mr. Grand has been here a number of times, thanks to hot shots like these and naked teases like those.

Following on the heels of a smutty Saturday, here’s a nifty and naked little bookend for your weekend enjoyment. I’ve been working in the garden while the rain held off, but that looks to end for another endless stretch. The heat is on, inside and online. This one kicks off with the  banging bod of Simon Dunn, who made such a splash in his birthday suit a few posts ago. And did it all again for good measure.
Darren Criss and his Speedo are starring in the new Andrew Cunanan story, but something tells me I’ll just wait for the excerpts to come out, a la ‘Magic Mike’. Charlie Carver, of ‘Teen Wolf’ fame, brings the average age of the Hunk of the Day down a few years.
One naked photo of Charlie King is never enough, so I give you these two. King appeared naked here before, and in motion to boot(y).
We have yet to indulge in a proper pool season, but when we do Chris Mears should do so in his Speedo.
