Dazzler of the Day: Kevin Aymoz

Sometimes all it takes to be a Dazzler of the Day is the right song selection. This one goes out to Kevin Aymoz, who is skating to Lady Gaga at this year’s Winter Olympics – and while that alone is enough to dazzle, making it to the Olympics in any capacity of more than worthy of a Dazzler crowning. Congrats to Aymoz on excellent musical taste, and excellence in skating.

Olympic Spotlight: Hunter Hess

Olympic skier Hunter Hess dared to be honest and noble about what it feels like to represent the United States at this moment, and I completely understand and agree with the sentiment:

“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now. I think it’s a little hard… There’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren’t… Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the U.S.” – Hunter Hess

If people don’t understand how expressing one’s opinion on America is the absolute epitome of what this country was founded upon, then they truly don’t understand America. And to have a problem with anyone saying such a thing at this point in history, when we are clearly under a fascist dictator, is one of the most censorious and un-American things I’ve heard.

Here’s to Hunter Hess, and being a true American. Let’s also remember the words of James Baldwin: “I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.”

Dazzler of the Day: Benjamin Karl

The Winter Olympics, given their wintry nature, do not typically lend themselves to shirtless moments (unlike their bulge-tastic summer counterpart), but Benjamin Karl turned that frigid, rigid tradition on its head by doffing shirt for his celebratory victory moment following his gold medal win. Karl has been a perennial champion in snowboarding, and this marks his incredible fifth time at the Olympic Games, where he just won his second gold medal for his home country of Austria. This Dazzler of the Day goes to Benjamin Karl for reminding us how it’s done after the age of 40.

Winter Olympics or Bust

The opening ceremony of this year’s Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy begins today, and this website always celebrates that event as a moment the world comes together in unity. I’m not sure how the rest of the world feels about the United States right now – well, I have a pretty good idea, and it’s not at all good – but hopefully none of that bleeds through for these hard-working athletes. We’ll keep things as sexy and superficial as possible, because that’s what this site was once for, and what it may be again.

This year’s festivities are fronted by Gus Kenworthy, who returns for another run at Olympic glory, and I can’t think of a better front-man. Or back-man based on nude posts like this.

For me, the Olympics are always about the figure skating, and this year all eyes will be on the Quad God Ilia Malinin, who is aiming for Olympic Gold with his impressive litany of quad jumps, and a super-nova star quality.

Speedskaters Erin Jackson and Conor McDermott-Mostowy look to defy human speed limits, while ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates have been on Olympic ice before as seen here and here.

Finally, Adam Rippon will be playing a part in Olympic commentary, adding to the gay glamour of these games – see him in this nude spread to whet the appetite and set the stage…

Dazzler of the Day: Erin Jackson

The road to Milan, Italy and this year’s Winter Olympics is studded with luminaries such as our Dazzler of the Day Erin Jackson, who heads there having already broken all sorts of speed skating records, including being the first black woman to win an individual gold medal in a Winter Olympic sport from the last games in Beijing, China. She looks to add to that, and numerous other championships, in Milan next month.

Dazzler of the Day: Conor McDermott-Mostowy

Heading to the Winter Olympics as part of the USA Speedskating Team, Conor McDermott-Mostowy earns his first Dazzler of the Day crowning for exceptional speed and agility. His Instagram profile quotes a motto that has seen him all this way: “A loss is only a failure if you learn nothing from it.”

Watch him whiz by in Milan next month.

Dazzler of the Day: Amber Glenn

When you choose Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer’ as the music to your short program, you’ve already won my heart; when you add in technical prowess and bravura technique, and become the first woman to land a Triple Axel in this event, you win the whole program and the US National Championship for the third year in a row. Amber Glenn accomplished that recently, setting her up for a run at an Olympic medal. That alone is enough to crown her as Dazzler of the Day as we continue on the road to Milan, Italy and this winter’s Olympic Games. (Bonus: that short program was the highest scoring program to date for a woman at the US National Championships.)

Dazzler of the Day: Alysa Liu

Thus continues our road to Milan, Italy and this year’s Winter Olympics! Alysa Liu, at the time of this writing, just slayed at her short program in the US Ice Skating Championship. It was a performance made more remarkable for the fact that she had retired a few years ago, and coming back in such powerful form, when athlete years equal decades, is more than enough reason for this Dazzler of the Day crowning. She’s got some brilliant competition, as will be seen in future Dazzlers, but she has a newly-found attitude of acceptance and enjoyment from the sport, which is the real reason for doing anything.

Olympic Spotlight: Ilia Malinin

Kicking off this year’s Winter Olympics rundown to Milan, Italy is a man who’s been here before. Ilia Malinin has been on this blog’s radar for years, so his perch at the top of the world’s male competitors for this year’s Olympic Games is no surprise, and as of this writing he looks poised to cinch tonight’s National Championship title. Malinin has already been a Dazzler of the Day here way back in 2023, and the self-proclaimed (and righteously earned) ‘Quad God’ may be adding to that with more honors in the weeks to come.

Dazzler of the Day: Bob the Cap Catcher

Steaing all the Speedo glory and thunder from this already-bulging Paris Olympics, Bob the Cap Catcher is crowned Dazzler of the Day. This is the person who dove into the Olympic pool to pick up wayward swim caps left from the competition. Nothing puts a cap on this Olympic Games better than honoring Bob as our last official Dazzler from Paris 2024.

Paris Olympics: A Tale of Two Penises

When I billed our very first Summer 2024 Olympics post as ‘Paris Is Bulging‘ I had no idea how prophetic that would turn out to be. This edition of the Olympic Games was nothing short of bulgetastic, with the crotch taking center-stage from the opening ceremony and that scrotum-peek to the aptly-named pole vault and the dick-tap seen around the world.

France’s own Léon Marchand would anchor the start of the games, winning the gold for his home host country and riding the crest of the crowd’s adorations and thunderous cheers.  From the US, Caeleb Dressel revealed a raw reminder of all the highs and lows that an Olympic experience can bring with it. Swimming marvel Torri Huske helped her team to a few more swimming medals while Asher Hong and Paul Juda kicked off the men’s gymnastics in fine form.

The very first bulge from the title of this post belonged to Jules Bouyer, whose swimsuit was filled to the brim as he became an instant icon and the envy of more than a few good men. Carlos Alcaraz showed off his underwear bulge long before these Olympic games, but he made a splash with his tennis performance.

Anthony Harding, diving partner of Jack Laugher, made a proverbially-big and literally-small splash in his Olympic Spotlight and tight Speedo

America’s very own Clark Kent/Superman hero, Stephen Nedoroscik blew us away as he anchored the men’s gymnastic team on the pommel horse, then earned his own individual medal on the same apparatus. Digging up shirtless shots of Nedoroscik should be an Olympic event in itself.

Meanwhile the Philippines put itself on the gold medal map with a pair of them earned by Carlos Yulo.

Rhys McClenaghan went for the gold and claimed it on the pommel horse, knocking Superman into third place. Noah Lyles and Bobby Finke have both appeared here previously, but thanks to winning performances they earned a couple of Olympic Spotlights. From the running crew, Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr battled it out on the track and under the spotlight, but it was American Cole Hocker who ran away with the gold medal

The second bulge of the post title came fittingly from pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati’s cock-brushing pole stunt

Not one to be overshadowed by this bulge in the prelims, Mondo Duplantis broke a world record with his own pole vault

While Simone Biles gleefully broke more records with more gold medals, she made a little room for Rebeca Andrade to win a gold medal for her floor routine in women’s gymnastics. American Gabby Thomas was back and faster than ever, earning her second Dazzler of the Day crowning.

Finally, Tom Daley won a silver medal and added more Speedo shots to his long list of blog posts.

Olympic Spotlight: Jack Laugher

Olympic Spotlight: Cole Hocker

The battle was supposedly between Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr, but it was American Cole Hocker who ran away with the gold in the 1500m race. Proof that bluster doesn’t always come in first. Oh, and he broke the Olympic record too.

Dazzler of the Day: Gabby Thomas, Take Two

Two-time Olympic medalist, world champion, and Harvard graduate, Gabby Thomas is truly a Renaissance woman whose talents know no bounds. The work and commitment any one of those accomplishments requires is mind-boggling to me – to do all three, and do them better than everyone else, is the stuff of those rare icons who earn a second Dazzler of the Day. She aims to add to that with her performance in the Paris Olympics. (See her first Dazzler of the Day crowning here.)
