With June and July fading from the rear-view mirror, August and September are all we have left of summer, so at this crux let’s have a look-back at our summer playlist 2026 – it’s a musical smorgasbord of the most messy and eclectic kind, which is just the sort of playlist I like best (and why the algorithms of Spotify don’t work well with me – my taste is too varied and too unpredictable). As I was listing these out, it suddenly struck me how much has happened in this single summer, and we’re not even halfway through it.
