As someone who very much embraces and enjoys solitude and alone time, I’ve also come to realize that we simply cannot do it alone. And as Winnie-the-Pooh once proclaimed, “It’s so much friendlier with two.” So for this summer, I’m going to endeavor to be a bit more social, a bit more friendly, a bit more open to speaking with people. This life can be difficult enough; if someone wants to share some of the burden, I’ll always be grateful for that. A summer of kindness and camaraderie doesn’t sound half-bad, and summers spent with friends are the very best sort of summers.
