Preparing the Decked-out Way for the Holiday
This week I’ll be attending the Beaujolais Nouveau Benefit for the AIDS Council. Along with Bob’s Thanksgiving Eve party, it’s the kick-off to my Holiday season, and as such it deserves a special outfit. I’ve worn some humdingers in the past, but this year is going to be a little more low-key. (Mainly because it’s no longer so easy for me to stand around in six-inch-heeled thigh-high latex lace-up boots – to be honest, it never was. Nor do I feel like brushing feathers out of my face all night as I did last year. And I simply cannot fit into the Swarovski-crystal-encrusted corset that I managed three years ago.) So for this year’s event I’ve decided against the head-dress after all.
Besides, there are other outfits that must be assembled, including one for Bob’s Annual Holiday Party the next week, our own Peacock Party in December, a few nights at the theater, and Christmas Eve at church. After all, is there any hotter see-and-be-seen place than church? (I won’t even begin to describe some of the outfits I’ve desecrated St. Mary’s with over the years.) The Holiday Season is upon us, and I plan to attend to it with Scrooge-like ferocity.

Scrooge-like ferocity. I’m in love with that sentiment! Happy outfitting.
