My Favorite Things About Ogunquit: #5 – The Ogunquit Beach Inn

There are literally hundreds of things that I love about Ogunquit. To narrow them down to a finite number and then ranking them is like choosing a favorite coat or bag (I don’t do children). But coming up are the Top Five Favorite Things I love about The Beautiful Place by the Sea, as best as I can muster. All of them are special in their own right.

The first one that comes to mind is the Ogunquit Beach Inn – our accommodations of choice. We stay in the Naughty Pine Room, which affords a bit more privacy than the main house, and a rooftop terrace that we never quite manage to utilize to its fullest. As hosted by Greg and Mike, it’s a home away from home. Mike is the master of the breakfast muffins, while Greg gives us the local news and amusing anecdotes of the town folk. They have a blog too, Right Here – and whenever I feel a longing for Maine, I check it out and am instantly transported back to the beauty.

The Ogunquit Beach Inn is conveniently located on School Street – close to the action, but far enough to afford peace. It serves as a welcoming home base for us while on vacation, and was the first place Andy and I stayed in together almost eleven years ago.
