Grammy Fashion Fizzle

My fashion review of the Grammys is up at Kristi Gustafson’s On the Edge Blog here. All in all, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of any real show-stopping outfits and the almost across-the-board reliance on black and gray as the ubiquitous colors of the evening. For me, fashion and music have often collided in some amazing moments of collaboration, much like the Grammy performances. This year it all fizzled a bit, even if we had Lady Gaga.

(While the Lady provided some visual spark, part of me wanted to see her do a complete turnaround and wow us with something simple and elegant, or completely casual – anything to confound the expected.) As it was, she rose to the bait and mostly succeeded, especially in the other-worldly Armani creation you see above.

As for the rest of evening, head over to the TU blog and see what I and three other fabulous reviewers had to say about the fashion choices.
