And Sometimes She Makes Me Cry
This is a fan’s view of the Madonna half-time show during this year’s Super Bowl. It’s a from-the-stands vantage point, with casual commentary and real-life reactions to the performance as it unfolded. I would kill to attend a Madonna concert with these guys – the loved ones who have attended with me in the past (Suzie and Andy) are fans, but I think they were more excited for me than for Madonna, which is sweet in its own way.
I can’t quite explain why, but videos like this always make me cry – and while that’s not as difficult as it might seem, it doesn’t happen often. Brought to my attention by the fabulous Matthew Rettenmund, this is one of those things that chokes me up for no apparent reason, and I wonder why it affects me so much. I guess the innocence of it, the simple excitement of a Madonna fan, and somehow so much more…
Maybe it’s hearing the thrill and unbridled enthusiasm in the Father’s voice, maybe it’s the glee and wonderment of the kids (educating him on LMFAO), or maybe it’s just the love between a father and his son, heard even over the half-time show by Madonna.
