Everything But the Girls
I’ve been given the chance to carry my catty snarkiness to PinstripeMag.com - where they promote, “Genius. Gear. Girls. Gadgets.” I guess I’m contributing to the “Gear” part with a few fashion reviews (because I’m certainly not hitting any G-spots).
I started with a blurb about the Prada mesh vests that I was on the fence about and most recently gave my take on the new Calvin Klein campaign starring Kellan Lutz (whom I had not heard of before this). The site is sort of an online Maxim, but looking beyond the scantily-women there is some useful info on men’s fashion and accessories, and this is the part that interests me.
And for those who know and care, here is Kellan Lutz in all his Calvin Klein glory:

After clicking around the magazine’s web site, I found and read your review. I agree with most of it.. It’s good writing.. but it ignores the fact that most previous successful male underwear designs.. CK, AX, GinchGonch, IntMale, AussieBum, M2M, Baskit, etc., have made it big in the straight male fashion market only after successfully appealing and selling to gays. Kellan, Taylor, and Robert owe their continually expanding popularity to a segment of the gays as much as they do the tweens. To that extent, the Lutz/Klein ads are a success. Kellan is nice stuff.. and the CK ads provide an ample look at his talents. But the X undies themselves offer nothing new.. and appear to squash rather than enhance the model’s male anatomy.. I’d think that alone is enough to merit a retail sales kiss of death from the previously mentioned all-important gay market. However, unlike you, I do like the the big blocky lettered waistband.. as well as the big satin waistband on other CK undies. I hope you continue to write for PinStripe Mag.. and will let us know and provide us links when anything of yours is published in the future.
